How do I backup my files & devices on iDrive?

As a small business or business-of-one, you typically own 5 devices, on average. You have ALL your sensitive data on these devices. How to backup data from multiple computers

Install the IDrive application on multiple PCs/Macs, then sign in with the same IDrive account to backup data. IDrive will create a unique folder for each of the devices you backup to your account, preventing data overlap.

To backup files from multiple computers,

 

1.    Download and install IDrive on all your computers that are to be backed up.

 

2.    After installation, you will have to sign in or create a new account.

 

3.    On successful sign in, IDrive creates a unique folder with the name of the computer to prevent data overlap during multiple computer backup.

 

4.    Select the 'Online Backup, 'Local Backup, or 'IDrive Express™ Backup' radio button. A default backup set is created including important folders from your computer for each option.

 

5.    Click the 'Backup Now' button to start the backup.

 

Backup your iOS, Android devices

To backup files from multiple iOS and Android devices,

 

1.    Download and install IDrive app on all your mobile devices that are to be backed up.

2.    After installation, sign in or create a new account.

3.    On first time sign in, you will be redirected to the ‘Backup your device’ screen. By default, your device contacts, photos, videos and calendar events will be selected for backup.   [Note: You can modify the items to backup].

4.    Tap 'Backup Now' to start the backup.

How do I restore my backup files?

There are different ways to restore files from your IDrive account.

On your computer - desktop application

1.    Sign in to IDrive account with your username and password.

2.    Go to 'Restore'. The ‘Online Restore’ radio button is selected by default.

3.    Select the computer or mobile device folder under 'Device'. A list of files and folders that are backed up are displayed.

4.    Select the files and folders to restore using the checkbox.

5.    Choose your desired 'Restore location' on the local computer.

6.    Click 'Restore Now' button.

On the IDrive website [https://www.idrive.com]

1.    Sign in to IDrive account with your username and password. 'Cloud Backup' is selected by default.

2.    Click on the required computer or mobile device folder for restore.

On your iOS/Android phone or tablet

1.    Sign in to IDrive account with your username and password.

2.    Select the computer or mobile device folder and a list of files and folders that are backed up are displayed.

3.    Open the file to restore.
